Christie&#8217;s camp is once again making the law all about our governor&#8217;s wishes instead of about legal precedent, common decency, responsibility to constituents or logic. <\/p>\n<p>This time, Christie wants to use leftover campaign funds to pay legal bills for the Bridgegate defense. No matter that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2014\/01\/chris_christie_asks_elec_whether_it_can_use_campaign_money_amid_scandals.html\">the Christie-Booker team went after Sharpe James<\/a> for doing exactly the same thing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A state court in 2012 ruled that Sharpe James, the former Newark mayor, violated the law by spending $94,004 in campaign funds to fight fraud charges.
