I can’t find the complaint I posted on First Jersey Credit Union<\/a>‘s Facebook page<\/a> about needing help after trying for months to unsubscribe from USPS mailings but not being able to, so I guess they deleted it. But my post did its job and I got a call from my branch manager today.<\/p>\n

\"Yelp<\/a>I had already phoned about this issue a couple of times and been told there was nothing anyone could do to help me. I insisted because I’m a greenie and want to save trees and then back in July, one lady gave me the number to their IT vendor and told me to call them<\/em> for help. I didn’t, though, mostly because I don’t get paid to troubleshoot the CU’s website issues.<\/p>\n

Today, manager Joe advised me to try disabling my popup blocker. I did, and was then able to click on “estatements” and after agreeing to TOS I got a message that there were no estatements to view. I asked, “What did I just do?” and Joe interprets for me: that means that right now, there are no statements for me to view because I only get to see statements starting the day I sign up for estatements. <\/p>\n

I ask, “Does it also mean I won’t get paper mailings any more?” and Joe tells me yes, they won’t be mailed to me any more.<\/p>\n

I tell Joe that it’s completely bizarre that none of this is stated anywhere on the website or the pages I visited and he wants to know, “Why do you think that?”<\/p>\n

While I had someone with answers on the phone, I decided to also ask about the scholarships my sons applied for several months ago and never heard anything more about. Joe got this answer after a few minutes: they weren’t notified because only winners are notified. I told Joe that I love the concept of credit unions but I hope First Jersey pulls their act together, because in my opinion they’re doing several things a**-backwards. Joe didn’t understand that either. <\/p>\n

I hope someone gets it. If credit unions are going to compete successfully with other financial institutions \u2013 which I hope very much they will, delivering basic services and communication are an extremely important foundation. And by the way, First Jersey, if you want sincere relationships with customers, don’t delete our complaints. Since my Yelp complaint<\/a> is still visible, I guess you didn’t have the ability to disappear it too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
