This is a major SCAM and your computer will be corrupted. Hang up \u2014 do not continue call.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Benita is not the only person getting these calls. This scam is so widespread that Microsoft has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/security\/online-privacy\/avoid-phone-scams.aspx\">warning<\/a> about it on its website, and there\u2019s even a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Technical_support_scam\">Wikipedia entry<\/a> about it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Consumer&#8217;s Union offer tips to <a href=\"http:\/\/<a href=\"https:\/\/consumersunion.org\/campaign-updates\/scam-alert-legit-companies-dont-call-you-to-offer-tech-support-2\/\">protect yourself from robocall scams<\/a>, but individual protections aren&#8217;t enough and the current <a href=\"http:\/\/www.consumer.ftc.gov\/features\/feature-0025-robocalls\">resources available to the FTC<\/a> don&#8217;t do the job either.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Despite the Do Not Call list, the unwanted robocalls keep coming. The problem is so bad the Federal Trade Commission asked computer hackers for their best ideas to block these calls.
