The Friends of Liberty State Park ask us to act now to support the historic Liberty State Park Protection Act currently making its way through the New Jersey Legislature. The Act will summarily protect the Caven Point Natural Area—an exceptional value wildlife habitat— from the repeated attempts of Liberty National Golf Course and its well connected lobbyists to acquire 21 acres of the park for an exclusive, private golf course.
Simply make two calls as soon as you can and amplify this action by sharing with your network—until Tuesday, Nov. 30.
The Friends of Liberty State Park continue to fight against private attempts to acquire this public land since Liberty State Park opened in 1976. In the words of Jersey City Mayor, Steve Fulop: “We need our governor and Legislature to clearly and unequivocally say that this is the people’s park, to save us from the same fight every single year.”
